Liquid Filtration Begins on July 8th

Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) had its last required course in air filtration for the Certified Filtration & Separation Specialist (CFSS 2020) program and will begin a series of courses on Liquid Filtration next week.

Today's class was from Mr. Bob Burkhead, President of Blue Heaven Technologies, a globally leading expert with 16 years of extensive experience in air filtration product performance testing and evaluation. It provided a broad understanding of the test methodologies and techniques used in developing air filtration media and manufactured end filter products, such as HVAC, automotive, industrial, clean spaces and medical applications, etc. The course also discussed elements concerning the use and abuse of published testing protocols, how they interact with global market needs, and how the data quality must be assessed and utilized for meaningful project outcomes.

On Wednesday, July 8th, 2020, our training courses on Liquid Filtration will begin by Dr. Wu Chen, Principal Research Scientist at Dow, a well-recognized expert in the global filtration and separation industry. Dr. Chen has over 30 years of extensive experience in all areas of liquid filtration and air/gas filtration in both technologies and business perspectives. The course is designed for certifying professionals as a specialist in liquid filtration and separation. It will focus on the filtration from the industrial application perspective.



We have two sessions in Liquid Filtration in the following two weeks. Liquid Filtration I on July 8th will provide the groundwork and understanding of the basics in liquid filtration, and Filtration II on July 15th will further discuss liquid filtration applications, equipment, and test methods. Dr. Chen will skillfully guide us to understand the complication and fascinating part of the liquid filtration world.
