Nanofibers in Filtration, August 25

Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) completed another new training course Membranes in Filtration this morning with Mr. Scott Yaeger, President/CEO of Filtration and Separation Technology International, Inc. It provided an excellent overview of membrane technologies and their applications in filtration.

In this course, we reviewed different technologies used to produce membranes and many of the functional properties of membrane filters from standard Microporous Filtration (MF) to Ultra Filtration (UF), Nanofiltration (NF), Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Forward Osmosis. Additionally, Dr.-Ing. Thomas Peters, an internationally renowned expert in membranes and water filtration, also joined us as a panelist to answer questions from our participants. Dr. Peters is best known for using Reverse Osmosis in seawater desalination.

We at Waterloo Filtration Institute would like to thank both Scott and Thomas for their efforts and continuous contribution over the years to the filtration industry. We are honored to have them share their knowledge with us today.

Next Course Reminder: WFI will have next course Nanofibers in Filtration by Dr. Christine Sun on August 25th In this course, we will first review the principles of why nanofibers can be so effective to enhance the filtration performance and the methods used in the industry to produce various nanofibers, then we will discuss how to structure the nanofibers in your filter media for your nanofiber filter product design, and trends for future development. Register Now.
