Filter Media Technologies

An Overview of Nonwoven Products and Process Technologies

Tuesday, March 23, 2021, was the first course of Waterloo Filtration Institute’s CFSS 2021 program on filter media. We had another great attendance, and thanks to our fantastic instructor Dr. Gajanan Bhat from the University of Georgia below. Dr. Bhat discussed in detail many of the Nonwoven processes and techniques used in today’s products.

The course was then followed by a live interactive panel discussion to answer questions directly from the class. Our distinguished speakers and panelists provided insight into the many ways that Nonwovens are used in the industry. We thank all of our speakers, panelists, and participants for the excellent interactive learning. Next Course: Filtration Media Technologies

Our next course will be conducted on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 from 8 – 10 am EDT by Dr. Christine Sun, President of Waterloo Filtration Institute and will continue our journey started with Dr. Bhat today. Dr. Sun will discuss Filter Media Technologies which will answer the questions of how what and why various media are used beside nonwovens in filtration. Dr. Sun is a highly regarded speaker in the industry and has over 30 years in working with the design and development of newer unique products in the industry.

From nonwovens, membranes, ceramics, metallics, adsorbents, wovens, to nanofibers and other porous materials, this course aims to provide you with an overall understanding of the filter media market and products used in various areas of air and liquid filtration. Emerging technologies, challenges, and trends for future development will also be discussed.
