Air Filtration Testing and Evaluation - June 30

Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) will begin the 12th courses in this summer’s training session designed to further improve your knowledge of air filtration in Air Filter Testing and Evaluation. This course will round out the air filtration section of our Certified Filtration and Separation Specialist CFSS 2020 Education Program.

Today's class was from Mr. Kevin Jameson, President of Pure Air Filtration, a global company specializing in Gas Phase Filtration. Kevin provided an excellent overview of the gas phase filtration market, different technologies and applications, test methods and trends for future development. It also covered basic principles, different types of delivery systems of adsorbents, products in different applications, such as HVAC, odor control, environmental exhaust, and toxic gas protection, etc.

On June 30, 2020, our 12th and final air filtration course will be on Air Filtration Testing and Evaluation by Mr. Bob Burkhead, President of Blue Heaven Technologies. The course is intended to provide a broad understanding of the test methodologies and techniques used in developing nonwoven air filtration media and manufactured end products. Specific focus is given to a wide variety of application-driven developments and covers HVAC, automotive, industrial, clean spaces, and medical applications, among others.

On Wednesday, July 8th, 2020, our first of two courses dealing with Liquid Filtration will begin followed by several others. Dr. Wu Chen is a Principal Research Scientist at Dow. He has over 30 years of industrial experience in all areas of solid/liquid separation and air/gas filtration in both technologies and business perspectives.

Dr. Chen's course is designed for certifying professionals as a specialist in solid/liquid separation (or sometimes called liquid filtration). Separation of particles from a liquid can be accomplished by filtration (separation with a filter medium) or field separation (separation without a filter medium). The curriculum is designed for people who are new to the filtration industry, either in technical, sales, or business functions. It is also a very good refreshing course for those who have been involved in filtration for a while, especially in relating some fundamental principles to practical operations.

Become a Certified Filtration and Separation Specialist and allow our training to boost your knowledge and raise your professional value in the filtration marketspace.
