Air Filtration For Hospitals

Join Dr. Iyad Al-Attar, Visiting Academic Fellow in the School of Aerospace, Transport, and Manufacturing at Cranfield University (UK), and Mr. Stephen Nicholas, Past President of The National Air Filtration Association (USA) for this unique and informative new course to address critical air quality in hospitals Air Filtration for Hospitals, September 6, 2022, Tuesday, 8:00 am-10:00 am, EDT.

Course Objectives

This course gives an overview of the air filtration criteria and practices for a hospital-built environment. We will discuss the common contaminants challenging the installed air filters and further understand filter performance, selection, installation, stages, and the processes associated with particle loading and filter clogging.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn how climate and operational conditions influence filter performance and the appropriate maintenance measures required to replace and dispose of a filter. Participants will also gain field knowledge and practical techniques on measuring, monitoring, and managing the air quality needed to protect the health and safety of patients, healthcare workers, visitors, and HVAC equipment.

We will discuss the recent updates on the associated filtration standards, developments, filtration challenges, and future trends for healthcare facilities.
